The Stig in Camberley – Formula Fantastic

The Stig at St Paul's Camberley

Motorsport Legend - ‘The Stig’ with the children at the St Paul’s RC Challenge

St Paul's RC Challenge with The Stig

This regular event to give Dads some playtime with their children, and mum a break, is usually known as “Who Let The Dads Out”, but on this occasion, it could be renamed to “Who Let The Stig Out!”. He managed to escape Clarkson and the lads from BBC Top Gear, and take part in the St Paul’s Radio Controlled Car Challenge on Saturday 1 December. There were even a couple of monster trucks thrown in for good measure. Looks like 14 children and their dads, uncles and grandads had a formula fantastic time with Sarah, the children’s worker at St Paul’s who arranged it. Sarah said: “It was lovely to see the smiles on the children’s faces, but one face we didn’t see was The Stig. He still managed a bacon butty though, through his helmet”.

Motorsport anthems blasted out as the cars raced around the cleverly devised circuit. In the pits, yummy bacon butties and drink were served up for those needed refuelling. The icing on the cake was The Stig presenting the prizes and allowing us to do a photocall with him, before he sped off into the distance. He had to get back to HQ before the Top Gear boys missed him.
