Easter 2014 at St Paul’s – Time to Celebrate

Easter, like Christmas, is a real time of reflection and celebration. Whilst we celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, at Easter we think of His death. Not just His death though, but God raising Jesus from the dead. Confusing? here is a blog post to explain all the details.

Easter 2014 At St Pauls Camberley

The ‘What’s on Guide’ to Easter at St Paul’s

During Holy Week (14-20 April) please come on our self-guided interactive tour of St Paul’s, between 10am – 2pm each day. A great way to take time out, to relax, think and pray.

Maundy Thursday (17 April) there is a special chance to come and take Holy Communion at 8pm. This is the time when Jesus had his last meal with his friends.

Good Friday (18 April) we have a series of events for you to join in, starting with a service for all the family at 10am.  After that, we’ll be heading to High Cross Church in Camberley town to join the annual ‘Walk of Witness’. This is quite a powerful act to take part in. We’ll have a large cross with us as we walk. If you see us, please take time to think about the ‘reason for the season’ as they say in some parts. Easter isn’t really about chocolate. There was no giant egg back in the day. Good Friday is a time to think, and thank. Then at 2pm we’re back at St Paul’s to hit the senses, and do some more thinking and praying.

Easter day (20 April) is a big celebration. Such a celebration you have two opportunities to join, at 9.30am and 11.15am. Whether you’re a family, or a single person, we will make you most welcome.

Whatever you do during this Easter period, I hope you will have the opportunity to relax, enjoy, feast, but also reflect. Have a great Easter.
